Our Story

“A Family Affair” is a character-driven, ensemble farce, with strong comedic performances by talented and celebrated actors.

The Nichol Fellowship shortlisted script attracted significant talent.

Following the success of “After Life”, the Producers sought actors who had appeared in the award winning show. Joe Wilkinson (“After Life”, “Sex Education”, “8 out of 10 cats”) and Colin Hoult (“After Life”, “Derek”, “Life’s Too Short”) were cast in the Lead and Supporting roles respectively. Colin is currently enjoying a successful run with his stand-up show “Anna Man”, which was nominated for best show at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The award-winning and beloved actress Jane Asher gives a remarkable performance as the “despicable”, self-involved Mother-in-Law. Her on-screen daughter is played by Laura Aikman who is well-known for her roles in “Not Going Out” and “Gavin and Stacey”.

Deon Lotz, who played the lead role in “Beauty” (which screened in Competition at the 2011 Festival de Cannes) further bolsters this already celebrated Cast.        The film touches on the same themes, and is in the same vein as the hugely successful “White Lotus” series. Although darkly comedic at times, the film leaves the audience with a feeling of hope and optimism, that in the end good people do prevail, and while life can be tragic at times, it can also be remarkable.
